The format is created by Adobe in 1992-1993 as part of their Acrobat product. Legal briefs, product manuals, sheet music, phone-bills, articles, construction drawings, all may be faithfully represented, integrated and exchanged with PDF. Like paper, PDF combines characteristics that encompass any document, in any setting. PDF is the de facto standard for “final form documents”, it is electronic paper.
